Cody Bellinger broke the National League rookie record Friday by bashing his 39th home run of the season in the third inning against the Giants.
The record was previously held by Frank Robinson, who earned the 1956 National League Rookie of the Year Award when bashing 38 home runs.

Mark McGwire holds the record for most runs by a rookie with 49, however, Aaron Judge hit his 46th home run of the season Friday with nine games left on the Yankees schedule.
The Dodgers have been reeling the past month, but Bellinger’s power could help Los Angeles regain its form in the postseason.
