“So You Think You Can Dance” is now up to the third audition episode of season 14. After the first two episodes had the judges evaluating contestants on the West Coast, now aspiring stars had the chance to come to New York for their shot at joining the FOX competition.

Among those who showed up were Joseph (also known as Klassic) and Huwer (Havoc), who were ready to demonstrate a style called flexing. While many before them have showed off hip hop-inspired pop-and-lock routines, what made this audition particularly noteworthy was the backing soundtrack. The two contenders opted to pair their performance with a song called “Butterfly’s.” The almost classical sound combined with the moves complimented and contrasted in really beautiful ways.

Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy immediately stood for a standing ovation at the end, and Vanessa Hudgens joined them. The head judge said afterward, “That was really very, very artistic what you were doing.” He further called Huwer a “genius,” telling him, “Some of the stuff you did there, I’ve never seen the like before.”

“Man, you’re popping and animation was so sick. It was awesome,” declared Murphy. Hudgens added, “I thought it was so beautiful what you did. You told a story. There was also some comedy in there for me.” The show built up the suspense as to whether they would get a ticket to the dance academy, but how could they not with a standing ovation?

Indeed, as the duo celebrated, Murphy said to her colleagues, “They were extraordinary.” Check out the videos below!
