South Texas university touts ‘world’s smallest fidget spinner’

Not everything is bigger in Texas. A South Texas university, which is touting the creation of the world’s smallest fidget spinner, proves that.

Thursday, Texas A&M University-Kingsville officials posted photos on Facebook and Twitter of the tiny fidget spinner, which is smaller than a paper clip.

According to university officials, the stress-relief toy was made by the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

Graduate students Jason Polasek and Kiran Srikakolapu worked on the toy. The project — which was for fun — was overseen by Larry Peel, professor and chair of the department, officials said.
