Tom Hiddleston Reaction Look What You Made Me Do

HollywoodLife is claiming to know Tom Hiddleston’s reaction to Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, but Gossip Cop can confirm the story was made up. And this is the second time in less than a week that the webloid is trying to dupe “Hiddleswift” fans.

As Gossip Cop reported, after the singer announced her upcoming record and new song, HollywoodLies published an “exclusive” report claiming Hiddleston would be “crushed” if Swift dissed him on Reputation or in her single. The article was only exclusive, however, because it was exclusively made up. Gossip Cop was assured that no one close to the actor was telling the webloid his feelings, good or bad, about his former girlfriend’s new music. The site simply manufactured the story because it wanted to capitalize on the high interest in Reputation and “Look What You Made Me Do.”

That was clearly the motive for this follow-up piece, which asks in the headline, “Is Tom Hiddleston Upset Taylor Swift Referenced Him In Her ‘LWYMMD’ Diss Video?” As seen in the above photo, the music video features Swift’s dancers wearing shirts with “I [heart] TS” on them, much like Hiddleston infamously wore during their July Fourth celebration last year. Now in its story, HollywoodLies asserts that while “Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be upset with Taylor Swift for referencing them in her ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ video,” the outlet has “exclusively learned” that Hiddleston “was actually flattered” and “isn’t the least bit offended.” A so-called “source close to the actor” is quoted as saying, “Tom didn’t take offense to Taylor’s video in the slightest.”

“The whole thing with the ‘I heart TS’ shirt got so blown out of proportion — it turned into this huge private joke between them. He still gets a laugh out of what a big deal people make about it and he knows Taylor does too,” claims the online publication’s supposed snitch, who is really just echoing what Hiddleston himself said to GQ in his cover story earlier this year. So, given that he was the first to talk about the shirt in the press, and made clear in that interview that he wore it as a joke, isn’t it kind of obvious that he wouldn’t be upset over Swift also making a joke out of it?

Drawing rather obvious conclusions and passing them off as “exclusives” has actually been a big component of HollywoodLies’ coverage of “Look What You Made Me Do.” For instance, there’s little doubt Swift is “thrilled” with the success of her new song, but the webloid pretended an “insider” “exclusively” told them that. No one, however, is giving the site Swift’s reaction, just like no one is giving Hiddleston’s reaction. Or the reactions of Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Kardashian and West, all of whom have been tied to Swift’s new music in similar stories. Fans are being duped by the outlet’s insatiable quest for traffic. And while we get that, at that the end of the day, HollywoodLife is a business, that doesn’t excuse blatantly fabricating stories under the guise of “journalism.”
