College football scores, highlights

6:51 — Saquon Barkley is bored with running, so he decided to try throwing. It worked pretty well.

6:37 — Florida State hit a field goal to tie things at 19-all following this John Wolford touchdown run, but it’s time to start sweating.

6:16 — While Saquon Barkley stalled in Happy Valley, Bryce Love is racking up numbers on the West Coast. Stanford’s dynamic back just scored from 59 yards out, his third touchdown of the day (61, 43 and 59 yards) and seventh run of 50 yards or more this season.

5:49 — Even when things go right for Tennessee, they go wrong. John Kelly takes off on a 44-yard catch and run, then coughs up a fumble. Georgia ball, still up 24-0 .

5:43 — Penn State kicker Tyler Davis missed a 21-yard chip shot. Indiana is hanging around  28-14 , and the Nittany Lions haven’t scored since the first quarter.

5:33 — Florida State went into halftime with a 13-12 lead over Wake Forest . WAKE FOREST.

5:13 — Is this Butch Jones’ last game as Tennessee coach? His Vols trail Georgia 24-0 at the half in Knoxvillle . Uh oh.

4:43 — It’s a two-horse race for the Doak Walker and Bryce Love isn’t willing to hand it over to Saquon Barkley so easily. This is his second TD run of the afternoon — part of five carries for 105 yards.

4:25 — Stanford’s Bryce Love is tired of Saquon Barkley getting all the love. This 61-yard run is Love’s sixth of 50 or more yards already this season.

4:18 — Georgia leads Tennessee 10-0 after a Jake Fromm touchdown pass to Javon Wims. Follow our live blog from Knoxville .

4:11 — You’re watching the Saquon Barkley Show. Play it on a loop.

3:54 — Indiana is no match for Penn State at this point. It’s 21-0 Nittany Lions and we’re not even in the second quarter .

3:47 — Florida pulled out the win but will be without starting QB Luke Del Rio the rest of the season after he went down with a shoulder injury in the second quarter against Vanderbilt. Gators coach Jim McElwain announced after the game Del Rio will have surgery Monday.

3:44 — Things are off to a good start for No. 7 Georgia in Knoxville.

3:39 — Florida State faces its first 0-3 start since 1976. An illegal block erased Derwin James’ electric opening kickoff, and the ‘Noles went three-and-out against Wake Forest.

3:31 — Saquon. Barkley. The man does it all, this time taking the opening kickoff 98 yards for a very early 7-0 Penn State lead over Indiana.

3:18 — So … Vanderbilt and Northwestern both made valiant fourth-quarter runs at the upsets, but fell short. We’ll start in Evanston, where the Wildcats rallied to within 31-24 late in the fourth quarter when QB Clayton Thorson took a safety to seal a 33-24 Badger win. In Gainsville, Vandy identically got back to within a score of No. 21 Florida until a 39-yard touchdown run by Malik Davis, his second of the game.

2:43 — Wisconsin is pouring it on now. Natrell Jamerson’s pick-six gives the Badgers a 31-10 lead over Northwestern as the fourth quarter winds down.

2:14 — All three Florida scores have come by way of the ground. This time Malik Davis found the end zone to put the Gators ahead 24-17 .

2:01 —  Wisconsin grabs the lead back from Northwestern thanks to Jonathan Taylor’s second TD run of the game, this time from 11 yards out. It was set up by a 61-yard pass and catch from Alex Hornibrook to Quintez Cephus. Badgers up 14-10 .

1:57 — Not a great sign for Florida: Luke Del Rio didn’t return to the field following halftime. He’s undergoing X-rays on his shoulder.

1:36 — D.J. Moore has at least one touchdown reception in each of Maryland’s four games, giving him five on the season.

1:34 — Vandy took the lead on a 42-yard field goal with less than a minute to play in the second quarter. But Del Rio fill-in Feleipe Franks found Tyrie Cleveland for a 49-yard bomb on the ensuring possession, setting up a Gator field goal as time expired on the half. It’s 17-all in Gainseville .

1:28 — Northwestern takes its 10-7 lead over No. 21 Florida into halftime .

WEEK 5 PICKS: Straight up  | Against the spread

MORE:  USC must face tough questions after Washington State’s eye-opening upset

10:30 —  Did you stay up late on the East Coast to watch No. 16 Washington State pull out the upset of Sam Darnold and No. 5 USC?
