Aaron Judge etched his name in MLB record books once again Monday tying Mark McGwire’s rookie record with his 49th home run of the season.
The opposite-field bomb came in the bottom of third inning off the Royals’ Jake Junis.

Judge’s 49th homer also tied him for the ninth-most home runs in a season for a Yankee, matching Lou Gehrig (1934, 1936) and Babe Ruth (1930).
Judge, 23, has six games after Monday’s tilt with Kansas City to break McGwire’s record, which he set in 1987 as a member of the Oakland Athletics.
